No ratings for sale. Featured spots are labelled and never change the order.

We are not a lender or a mortgage broker. We do not take applications, quote rates or refer you to anyone. Lenders are listed under their headquarters city and ordered by number of loans made; no lender can pay to rank higher. To compare prices, get Loan Estimates from several lenders on the same day.

Common questions

Are you a lender or a mortgage broker?

No. We are a directory of public data. We do not take applications, quote rates, recommend lenders or refer borrowers, and we receive nothing based on referrals, applications or loans. Lenders can buy a labelled featured listing for a flat monthly advertising fee that is the same for every lender.

What is HMDA data?

The Home Mortgage Disclosure Act requires most mortgage lenders to report information about the applications they receive and the loans they make each year. The FFIEC and CFPB publish it in the HMDA Data Browser. Every figure on a profile comes from the lender's own filing. See what HMDA data shows.

Does a high approval share mean I will be approved?

No. A lender's share of approved applications depends on who applied to it, its products and its markets. It is background, not a prediction. Ask for a Loan Estimate and a preapproval to find out what a lender will offer you.

Why isn't my lender listed?

Smaller banks and credit unions below the HMDA asset or volume thresholds, institutions without an office in a metropolitan area, and lenders that did not file for the year shown do not appear. Their absence says nothing about them. If a filer is missing, tell us.

Do you show the best rates?

No. HMDA data are historical and we do not collect rate quotes. The only reliable way to compare prices is to request Loan Estimates from several lenders on the same day. See how to compare Loan Estimates.

How do I check that a lender is licensed?

Search the company and your loan officer on NMLS Consumer Access. Non-bank lenders must be licensed in the state where the property is. See checking a lender on NMLS.
